The fish are here.
So am I.

I've spent 8 years learning which captains put you on fish and which ones just put you on a boat. That difference is what I sell.

What Google
can't tell you

01
The captain makes the trip

I've fished with most of them. I know who works hard when the bite is slow, who calls it early, and who will have you back at the dock with stories worth telling. You're booking my judgment, not a listing.

02
8 hours fishing. 5 days of trip.

Most people book the boat and figure out the rest when they land. I've seen that go wrong too many times. I handle the hotel, the transfers, the in-between days. You show up ready to fish.

03
I live here. I'm not selling a package.

Most fishing sites are run from the US by people who've never met the captains. I live 20 minutes from Los Sueños. When something changes on the water, I know before you could Google it.

You focus
on the fishing.

  • Charter booking I match you with a captain I'd put my own family on. Not whoever has availability.
  • Hotel selection Places that know how to handle fishing groups. Cold beer when you get back. Early breakfast before you head out.
  • Transfers & logistics Airport to marina, marina to marina. You never figure out a ride in a foreign country at 4am.
  • Full trip planning I think about the stuff you don't know to ask. Which marina for your dates. Which species are running. What you'll regret not doing.

Anyone who gives you a single best time to fish Costa Rica hasn't actually fished it. It depends where you're going, what you're after, and what you're willing to sit through to get it.

Common questions.

What's the best time of year to fish in Costa Rica? +

Honestly, there's good fishing somewhere in Costa Rica every month of the year. What changes is the species and the zone. Share your dates and I'll tell you where to go.

How much does a Costa Rica fishing trip cost? +

For two people on a full trip — charter, hotel, transfers — you're looking at around $4,000 as a starting reference. It scales from there based on the group size and how many days you want on the water. My cut comes from the operators I work with, so planning costs you nothing.

Which marina should I fish from in Costa Rica? +

There are four main marinas in Costa Rica: Los Sueños and Quepos on the central Pacific near San José, and Papagayo and Flamingo up in Guanacaste near Liberia. You can also fish plenty of great spots without a marina at all. It really depends on where you're flying in, what you want to catch, and when.

Do I need fishing experience to book a trip? +

Not at all. I plan trips for experienced anglers, first-timers, couples, and families. The captains handle the fishing — you just need to show up.

What's included in a full fishing package? +

At minimum I handle the charter, captain selection, and logistics. Full packages include hotel, airport transfers, fishing days, and anything in between. If you already have your accommodation and flights sorted, I can also just book you the boat. It depends on what you need.

What species can I catch in Costa Rica? +

Offshore you're looking at sailfish, blue marlin, black marlin, striped marlin, yellowfin tuna, dorado, and wahoo. Inshore there's roosterfish, snook, cubera snapper, jack crevalle, among others. Costa Rica produces IGFA world records almost every season — the sailfish in particular are incredibly aggressive.

What does your planning service cost me? +

Zero. I work on commission from the captains and hotels I book — no extra charge on your end. If you don't go, I don't get paid.
